En Elche la oriental (in eastern Elche), que triunfa de Efraim con sus palmas (which triumphs over = eclipses Ephraim with its palm trees), y evoca, por su paisaje y sus costumbres (and evokes, by its landscape and its customs), el Hedjaz de Mahoma (the Hejaz of Muhammed), hay un campo (there is a field), donde los granados arraigan (where the pomegranate trees take root) y abren las higueras sus hojas (and the fig trees open their leaves; abrir; higom fig) y reprietan los naranjos sus ramas (and the orange trees spread their branches). En Abril se cubren los árboles de flor (in April the trees are covered with flowers; cubrir; florf flower, bloom).
