Hace algunos meses (/it was/ a few months ago; hace ago /in time expressions/) que, visitando la célebre abadía de Fitero (that, visiting the famous abbey of Fitero), y ocupándome en revolver algunos volúmenes (and perusing: “occupying myself with perusing” some books; revolver to look through; volumenm volume; tome; book) de su abandonada biblioteca (of his neglected library; abandonar to abandon; neglect), descubrí en uno de sus rincones (I discovered in one of its corners; descubrir) dos o tres cuadernos (two or three notebooks) bastante antiguos (quite old; bastante enough; too much), cubiertos de polvo (covered with dust; cubrir) y hasta comenzados a roer por los ratones (and even a little bit nibbled: “started to be gnawed” by mice).

Era un Miserere (it was a Miserere).
