El rayo de luna / The Moonbeam

Yo no sé (I don’t know; saber) si esto es una historia (if this is a history/story) que parece cuento (that seems /like/ a story/fairytale; parecer — to appear; be like) o un cuento que parece historia (or a story that seems like history); lo que puedo decir es (what I can say is; poder) que en su fondo hay una verdad (that deep down there is a truth: “in its depths there is a truth”), una verdad muy triste (a very sad truth), de la que acaso yo seré uno de los últimos en aprovecharme (of which perhaps I will be one of the last to take advantage), dadas mis condiciones de imaginación (given my conditions of imagination; dar; imaginar — to imagine).

Otro, con esta idea (another /person/, with this idea), tal vez hubiera hecho un tomo de filosofía lacrimosa (perhaps would have made/written a volume/book of tearful philosophy; hacer; lágrimaf — tear); yo he escrito esta leyenda (I have written this legend; escribir — to write) que, a los que nada vean en su fondo (which, for those /people/ who see nothing in its depths), al menos podrá entretenerles un rato (at least may: “will be able to” entertain them for a while; poder; ratom — a short time).
